I had a fascinating conversation with my oldest child in the relatively recent past. We were discussing Korea and how the current age has no genuine arrangement or enthusiasm for what the prior age of Koreans went through so the current age could partake in the products of their endeavors.

I was offering to him [for most likely the 20thtime] the encounters my better half went through as a youngster experiencing childhood in Seoul. I was reminding him how Yongbok and her family were having supper on the evening of June 25, 1950 when a korea trade police officer burst through their front entryway hollering that the North Koreas were a simple mile north and coming south rapidly.

Yongbok and her two kin, mother and father, left food on the table, a few individual things and hurried out the entryway. She strolled for six days to a far off town where she and her family could take asylum.

En route, she saw ruined bodies, consumed homes and withstood the dread of bombs detonating all around her. She had three medical procedures during the conflict years and needed to persevere through the cutting of her leg without the guide of even a nearby sedation - she was basically held down on the table by her folks and a few attendants while her leg was cut open.

I was bemoaning that it is really awful the current age does not have any comprehension of its previous history - they apparently live just in the present. However, as the words came out another inquiry quickly arose: Why does the current age need to "comprehend and appreciate" what the previous ages experienced? For what reason ought to there be a worry about changing qualities in the United States or Korea - times change as do conditions, so why's it significant?
